3 General Physician  Digestive System:  The major role of the digestive system is the process of breaking down food and disposing the waste.  Stomach: the internal organ in which the major part of the digestion of food occurs, being a pear-shaped enlargement of the alimentary canal linking the esophagus to the small intestine.  Liver: a large lobed glandular organ in the abdomen of vertebrates, involved in many metabolic processes.  Gallbladder: the small sac-shaped organ beneath the liver, in which bile is stored after secretion by the liver and before release into the intestine.  Small Intestine: the part of the intestine that runs between the stomach and the large intestine; the duodenum, jejunum, and ileum collectively.  Large Intestine: the cecum, colon, and rectum collectively.  Rectum: the final section of the large intestine, terminating at the anus.  Anus: the opening at the end of the alimentary canal through which solid waste matter leaves the body.

4 Surgeon Surgeries  MRCP(Magnetic Resonance Cholangiopancreatography)  First tested in 1991.  First person to test it is unknown.  To view the bile ducts.  There is no result of a illness or disease.  No other organs/organ systems are affected.  If this procedure was not performed, the internal tissues and organs would have not been checked and cleaned.  Esophageal Manometry  It is to determine the strengths of the muscles in the esophagus  First tested is unknown.  First person to test it is unknown.  No result of a illness or disease.  No other organs/organ systems are affected.  If the procedure was not performed, the body system will not evaluate gastoesophageal reflex and swallowing abnormities.

5 Epidemiologist  Diseases/illnesses  Esophageal Cancer- is a cancerous tumor of the Esophagus  Its is more of a problem for men than women  Also known as Cancer of the Esophageal  It causes trouble swallowing, chest pain, weight loss, pain, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and can be life threatening.  Can be treated with surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, Endoscopic treatments but has no cure.  Pancreatitis- It is inflammation in the Pancreas  there are two types: Acute Pancreatitis and Chronic Pancreatitis  It causes swollen and tender abdomen, nausea, vomiting, fever, rapid pulse, weight loss, diarrhea, and oily stools.  Weight loss is a problem, but not physically limiting, but can be life threatening.  This is fatal, but can be treated with Sphincterotomy, Gallstone removal, Stent placement, Balloon Dilatation.  It has no cure

6 Internist  Cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems are related because they each build one another.  The functions of the organ system work together by different systems that make up your body and allow it to run effectively  Five doctors that deal with the digestive system are:  Esophageal doctors-they deal with esophageal cancer.  Pancreas doctors-they deal with abnormal things in the pancreas.  Nutrition doctors-they take care of your nutrition and tell you the right things to eat.  Hematology and liver transplant doctors- they will let you know of any abnormalities liver.  Liver and bile-duct cancer doctors-they will look after your liver for any abnormalities.
