SMART Goals S pecific M easurable A greed Realistic are your objectives well-defined? how will you know when you’ve achieved them? have you agreed your objectives with your stakeholders (e.g. teachers, parents, friends)? can you achieve your objectives with the resources available to you (e.g. time, money, materials)? Time-Bound what deadlines do you need to work to?

SMART Goals Example 1: “I will pass my history coursework …” Is this a SMART goal? How could it be improved?

SMART Goals Example 2: “I will achieve the required grades (ABB) in June in order to get into University…” Is this a SMART goal? How could it be improved?

SMART Goals Example 3: “I will go running in the next month…” Is this a SMART goal? How could it be improved?

SMART Goals Activity Try and come up with some of your own SMART goals on page 13 of the booklet If you have time think of SMART goals for the next week, the next 6 months, the next 2 years, and the next 5 years (!)

Good Habits Activity It can be useful to think about any good or bad habits we have. Trying to stop bad habits may help us achieve our goals. Starting good habits, or trying new things, may also help us achieve our goals.
