2 WHAT IS SCHOOL-WIDE POSITIVE BEHAVIOR SUPPORT School-wide PBIS is:  IS a decision making framework that guides selection, integration, and implementation of the best evidence-based academic and behavioral practices for improving important academic and behavior outcomes for all students. Evidence-based features of SW-PBIS  Prevention  Define and teach positive social expectations  Acknowledge positive behavior  Arrange consistent consequences for problem behavior  On-going collection and use of data for decision-making  Continuum of intensive, individual interventions.  Administrative leadership – Team-based implementation (Systems that support effective practices)

6 WHAT IS A MIR? Minor Incident Report Used to communicate with family Sample infractions: inappropriate language, continual calling out, refusal to work, unsafe or rough play, minor disruption, disrespect, non-compliance, etc.

7 WHAT IS AN ODR? Office Discipline Referral Used to communicate with family Sample infractions: aggressive physical contact/fighting, property destruction, threats, theft, chronic MIRs, student/staff harassment, etc.

8 END OF MARKING PERIOD AWARDS Green Zone Criteria(M.P. 1)  0-2 MIR/Bus Warning  0 Office Referrals  0 Bus Suspensions Green Zone Criteria(M.P. 2-4)  0-1 MIR/Bus Warning  0 Office Referrals  0 Bus Suspensions **Students will also receive a bracelet if they earn green zone

9 COLT COUPONS Any staff member may give students a coupon for displaying respect, responsibility, or being safe Students can also give other students or staff members coupons Children take one copy home and the other goes in a grade level bucket Random drawings every other Friday

10 SPONTANEOUS GREEN ZONE AWARDS Random opportunities to celebrate students currently on green in the classroom Opportunity to talk/reteach yellow and red students
