About The Baby Baby elephants weigh about 200 pounds. They have small babies about three feet tall. They drink milk from their mother. The baby elephants are called calves. They have 1 baby at a time.

WHAT DO THEY DO? Elephants pick up things with their trunk. They play together. They take mud baths. They make 25 sounds. They sleep standing up.

What They Eat Elephants drink 60 gallons a day. They eat papayas too. Elephants eat 300 pounds of grass a day. They eat grass, tree bark and peanuts.

WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE Elephants have tusks. They are big – 13 feet tall. They weigh 13,000 pounds. They are not hairy. Their trunks are 7 feet long. They are fat.

FACTS Elephants have good memories. Their height is 13 feet. They weigh 7 tons. Elephants walk 90 miles a day.

WHERE DO THEY LIVE? Elephants live in Africa.
