Overweight People 43.4% of men and 33.7% women in the UK were overweight in 2002, figure is rising Overweight is a body mass index of 25-29.9 kg/m 2 Estimated that by 2020 One third of all adults and 50% of children will be obese Not just a problem in developed countries

Weight Control and Reduction Calculate body mass index or use waist measurement to determine healthy weight Set reasonable weight loss goal Establish a caloric deficit Diet must be adequate in all nutrients Eat a mixed diet in reduced quantity Eating habits and lifestyle changes
