Tents are used as a temporary home while living outdoors. They keep you dry and safe.
7
Flashlights are used as a light to see in the dark.
8
Signs are used to help you know about the area. They tell you things such as direction, danger, and more.
9
Backpacks are used to hold all of your belongings while camping.
10
Canned food is used in the woods since you don’t have a kitchen. It provides you with nutrients and energy to start the day.
11
Sleeping bags are used to keep you warm while you sleep.
12
Lanterns are used as a light. They are much bigger than flashlights, so they can light up more space around you.
13
Pots are used to heat up your food over a fire, so you can eat a warm meal.
14
Fires are used to keep you warm with its heat and also can be used to heat up food. They also provide a very large light source in the dark.
15
Mushrooms are a type of fungus that grows in the woods. Most mushrooms are safe for people to eat.

Net Fishing poleTackle box Bag of bait Click on the fishing tool that you want to learn more about! Play Game
20
Nets are used to help pull big fish out of the water. If the water is shallow enough, a fisherman can use a net to catch the fish by pulling it out of the water.
21
Fishing poles are used to catch fish that are further away in the water. The line goes out and has a hook attached to the end. The fish get caught on the hook and are then reeled into shore.
22
A tackle box is used to hold all of your fishing supplies. For example, extra hooks, fishing line, and sometimes even knives and pliers for cutting the fish off the hook. The tackle box is a very useful tool while fishing.
23
These bags hold the bait that is used to bring the fish to the fishing pole. Things like worms and bugs that fish like to eat are in this bag and then placed onto the hook that catches the fish.
24
In the text box below, write a story about a fishing trip you have experienced. If you have not gone fishing before, make up your own short story about what kinds of things you would do to catch a fish. When you are finished, click submit! SUBMIT Did you think about using different kinds of tools? For example, a net or a fishing pole.
25
That was a great story! You really know about fishing!
