vs 1 – “the way of sinners” vs 2 – “the way of the righteous” = echoed by first and last words of the Psalm: “Blessed … perish” = summary – result in vs 6: - way of the righteous – the Lord watches over - way of the wicked – will perish A. Two Ways:

The Blessed Road = meaning: - NIV notes – “happy condition” - NLT vs 1 + 2:12 – “joy” = sounds like a sickness … = sounds like a celebration! = requires two actions: negative and positive 1. “do not” = turning away from Stuff to leave behind – that will let you down … 2. “do this” = turning toward Take delight in the Lord and His law

C. The Road to Avoid vs 1 – “Blessed are those who do not: WALK -- STAND -- SIT = NIV makes it easy to see the subtlety of sin - of not turning to God but away from Him = you get “sucked in” - progressively more rooted in the wrong MOVE -- POSITION -- SETTLE
