2 Unit Summary This unit will make us aware on how we are able to see, hear, smell, taste and touch. This talks about our senses; their parts and how the sense organs function and relays information to the brain. It will also teach us the different ailments of each sense organ and learn how to take care of them. Various activities will be given like: Getting in touch with nature Collage Making Guess the item Routine planning

3 Curriculum Framing Questions
Essential question How do we see the world around us? Unit questions How are stimuli interpreted by the human body? What should be done to maintain good hygeine? Content questions How important are the sense organs based from their functions? Enumerate the parts of the different sense organs. Describe a person with sore eyes. What medicinal plants can be used to aid skin ailments

4 Project Expectations After lectures and various activities, the pupils will have reflective valuing of their sense organs. Apart from identifying the five senses, their parts and functions, the pupils will practice desirable habits to take care of their sense organs. They will also disseminate these habits at home and to other schoolmates. They will also develop better interpersonal skills after engaging in different group dynamics.

6 Basic Education Curriculum
1. Infer that our sense organs make us aware of things around us 1.1 Illustrate the sense organs and their functions. 2. Discern between the parts of the sense organs from models and explain how they work 2.1 Expound the functions of each part 3. Practice desirable health habits that will help prevent/control common ailments and keep the senses healthy 3.1 Categorize common ailments affecting the sense organs 3.2 Demonstrate ways of keeping the sense organs healthy

7 Teacher’s Goals The pupils will theorize how the sense organs interpret stimuli they receive. The pupils will examine the parts of the different sense organs and distinguish their functions. The pupils will investigate the causes of sensory ailments. The pupils will live out desirable health habits in preventing and controlling common ailments The pupils will plan a daily routine program in maintaining proper hygiene.

8 Objectives After lectures and varied activities,
the pupils will be able to : state the five senses; illustrate the parts of each of the sense organs; explain the function of each sense organ; construct an illustration of how stimuli are interpreted by the brain; distinguish among different sensory ailments through identifying their causes and senses affected; design a daily routine program in practicing proper hygiene and in controlling sensory ailments.
