What is Make-a-Wish? Make-A-Wish is a club that grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions and our main goal of this club is to raise money and participate in service project/volunteer work that benefits Make-A-Wish and club members. For more information, you can visit http://wish.org/ http://wish.org/

What is Make-a-Wish? Wishes are more than just a nice thing. And they are far more than gifts, or singular events in time. Wishes impact everyone involved - wish kids, volunteers, donors, sponsors, medical professionals and communities. The impact varies. For wish kids, just the act of making their wish come true can give them the courage to comply with their medical treatments. Parents might finally feel like they can be optimistic. And still others might realize all they have to offer the world through volunteer work or philanthropy.

What will NHS Make-A-Wish do? We will be sponsored by the Georgia Chapter and we will be participating in events that Make-A- Wish holds as well as various outreach projects to the community throughout the year. We participate in various activities during the school year. Some major activities include AIDS Walk, Walk for Wishes, outreach projects at Retirement Homes, Card making for Make-A-Wish children and we also participate in the annual Hands-on-Northview & Titanfest. Our goal during the 2014-2015 School Year is to raise $1,000.

Events from 2013-2014

When do we meet? First Wednesday of every month (except October & January)

Club Dues Club dues this year are $25 ; however, if you pay before October 8th, we are giving you a $5 discount, so the club dues will be $20. Your club dues cover your tshirt, membership to the Make-A- Wish foundation, money used for Outreach Projects and a small donation to the Make-A-Wish foundation. We suggest everyone to join quickly to take advantage of the discount. There is an envelope outside of Mrs.Rogers’ room, so you may turn in cash or check (made out to NHS) in there. Please put all monies in an envelope with your name and grade, or we will not know it is yours!

Points You will start earning points once you pay your dues. This will keep us track of if you are coming to meetings and being active in our club. Instead of doing volunteer hours, You must maintain at least 100 points each semester to stay as a member in our club. Each meeting is worth 10 points and there are many other ways you can earn points, so make sure to get your points by being active in our club! For example, paying club dues would be 25 points and filling out the contact sheet would be another 10 points. The Top 5 members who have the most points at the end of the year will be rewarded with a prize!
