French cooking is famous over the world for its flavour and refinement and it has many styles of gastronomies. In France, people practice diffrents ways of cooking and there are several regionnal's tradition of cooking, so that's why it's dificult to speak of french cooking as one and only unified cooking. So first lets see the different typicals cookings of somme french regions.

France is well-known for being the country of Wine... and cheese. Wine as cheese are part of french heritage and culture, so they're obviously essential for meals ! while eating French usually drink wine and after a starter, a main course, they're used to eat a piece of cheese. Wine and Cheese are matched and complement each other.

The French are used to taking 3 meals a day : Breakfast in the morning( with buttered bread and milk), lunch at midday and dinner at night. And at mealtimes every buddies of the french family are eating together. Even quickly, the meals take themselves based around a table, in the kitchen or in the living room, sometimes in front of the television, what prevents from discussing.

Usually The diner is a moment of relaxation where the family meets up and share what they've done all day long; and,of course, doing this while savouring a really good typical french meal. French meals are composed of a starter( usually salad ), main course (meat, fish and vegetables) and a dessert ( fruit, cheese, yoghurt,,,)

To Conclude Fast Foods are increasing every year in France at the expense of French Gastronomy since the French are more and more in a hurry. So beside The French Gastronomy you can also find famous fast foods such as pizzerias, sandwich shops, chinese restaurant... And unfortunatly french gastronomy is more and more abondoned by the french youngsters.
