Theme Description Short Summary of your Digital Theme Example: Digital Law: electronic responsibility for actions and deeds Digital law deals with the ethics of technology within a society. Unethical use manifests itself in form of theft and/or crime. Ethical use manifests itself in the form of abiding by the laws of society. Users need to understand that stealing or causing damage to other people’s work, identity, or property online is a crime. There are certain rules of society that users need to be aware in a ethical society. These laws apply to anyone who works or plays online. Hacking into others information, downloading illegal music, plagiarizing, creating destructive worms, viruses or creating Trojan Horses, sending spam, or stealing anyone’s identify or property is unethical.

Short Summarization of Video Example: A boy is doing a research paper about dinosaurs and has little time. His friends Chandler and Nick walk in and find him plagiarizing. They tell him what he is doing and he ignores them and keeps doing it. He goes to school and turns it in. The next day he gets the paper back and has a big F. He asks about it and the teacher said he knew he plagiarized it.

Scene Take One Example: Chandler and Nick walk into the computer lab and see Malcolm copying and pasting a research document into his paper. They say what it is, but he ignores it and does it anyway.

Scene Take Two Example: Nick and Malcolm go to their homeroom class the next day and hand in their papers. At first glance the teacher thinks they both did a good job.

Scene Take Three Example: The following day Malcolm and Nick return to class and get their papers back; Nick has an A, and Malcolm has a big F.

Scene Take Four Example: Students are in class working on a new assignment when the bell rings to dismiss class. Teacher allow everyone to leave accept Malcolm.

Scene Take Five Example : The teacher calls Malcolm to his desk and proceeds to question him about the content of the paper he turned in. Malcolm becomes defensive. The teach explains that it is illegal to plagiarize and the consequences resulting from his actions.
