A Fresh Start From Left: Kristin Eberhart, Connor Sheriff, Nick Wilhelm, Erin Miller, Ben Lowry & Laurie Martin This year: Six, third-year Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students from Slippery Rock University (SRU) A new location, but the same mission!

Why Lima, Peru? Located in West-Central Peru The capital and largest city of Peru Home to 1/3 of Peru’s population and the 16 th most populous city in the world Undeveloped or even missing infrastructure coupled with poverty in poorer areas and slums

“Pueblos Jovenes” The nickname of vast shanty towns surrounding Lima and other cities of Peru Limited access to health care services and medical equipment

What will we be doing? Two week service project August 8 th -22 rd, 2015 Providing volunteer services at various hospitals, locally and in surrounding areas. A few partners: Shalom Clinic in Pamplona Alta (*70% pediatrics) Peru Children’s Charity in Carabayillo We will mainly be serving a population of children with disabilities in the city of Lima, Peru

Equipment Evaluations for distribution of equipment e.g. wheelchair fittings

Patient Care Work under supervision of PTs Conduct patient evaluations and treatments Utilize limited available resources Communicate through non-verbal communication or translators

How Can You Help? Pray for us! Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Pray for safe travels Pray that we will be able to make a lasting, positive impact
