Transformer Asset Management

Pitfalls of Existing Process No information on transformers if not installed in the field. Limited electrical characteristic data No history No comparative analysis possible Repetitive entry of the same information in FIS

New Process Transformers treated similarly to other materials in a warehouse. Data linked to graphics (PcAge, Asset Viewer). Enhanced electrical test data. Complete history from receipt to retirement. Simple search for inventory.

Receipt Minimal data entered by Material Coordinator on receipt of transformer. –Company number (application does not allow duplicates) –Manufacturer –Serial number –KVA –Location –Notes (job #, special characteristics, etc)

Data Entry - New XFMR

Receipt - cont. All remaining information imported from csv file provided by manufacturer. –Voltages –IR, IX, IZ –Losses (load, no load) –Regulation –Mfr. date

Assigning Transformers to Location Codes Find the transformer by Company #.

Assigning Transformers - cont. Assign to Location Code Select position (graphics link) –application prevents inserting a transformer in an occupied position Add notes Click on out button.

Removing Transformers Enter Company # and find. Confirm location code. Enter location where transformer is returned Enter status (Yard, unusable) –Yard indicates transformer is suitable to be put back in the field. –Unusable to be retired or sent for repair.

Removing Transformers

Transfer Between CC’s Enter Company # Confirm transformer information Select transfer option Select new CC

Transfer Between CC’s

Retirement Enter Company # Must Have Status of Yard or Unusable. Confirm Transformer Information Enter Retirement Date

Retirement

Search / Edit Search by –Company Number –KVA –Location –Location Code –Serial # –Status Two Qualifiers possible with and/or selection

Search / Edit Operands –= Equal –!= Not Equal –< Less Than –<= Less Than or Equal To –> Greater Than –>= Greater Than or Equal To

Search / Edit Sort of results available Save results as csv for import to other applications Popup window for expanded viewing Full edit capabilities - TREAT WITH CARE!

Search / Edit

Popup and Edit Windows

Impact to Mapping Process EC’s Create new Location Code Enter KVA and Phase Connection All Remaining Information is Inserted Through Transformer Application Location Code Must Exist in Database for Transformer Application to Work

Impact to Mapping Process Elimination of Work Library Implement Pending Flags in Database Actions Through Transformer Application Immediately Available in Next Graphics Retrieval

Improvements to Process Permanent Retention of Transformer Information Transformer Installations Available in Graphics Sooner Quick Reporting of Inventory Built-in Error Checking Improved Work Flow
