Hate only continues the cycle of violence, which only creates more issues and involves more people. After many attempts such as the Sepoy Rebellion, Indians realized that violent attacks only gave the British more direct power. India chose the non-violent route by creating the Indian Nationalist movement. Through protests such as the Satyagraha, Indians proved that non-violence can make a difference and prove a point. These quotes were the basis of the movement. D) Today, the world is surrounded by turmoil and war. Everyday a new conflict leads to violence and nothing is ultimately being solved. It is apparent that war can never have a positive long lasting effect on a country, since wars continue to break out. We feel that if at least the United States uses our dominant power peacefully in a movement like the Satyagraha, it will encourage other countries to practice peace as well. This way we can all coexist peacefully as Ghandi had taught us.
