The Survey Exploration of climate surveys at other Universities Develop questions that focus on: –Structural diversity (Systems look) Diversity of faculty, staff, administrators, and students Programmatic – Policies, programs, processes –Psychological Climate Perceptions about aspects of campus diversity –Behavioral/intergroup campus climate Recruitment/retention Event attendance OFFICE OF DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION

Climate Study Process Planning Data Gathering & Analysis Report & Recommendations Implementation Evaluation Definition of Diversity Reasons for the importance of Diversity Goals for Diversity How the goals will be achieved Gather Data: Focus groups, interviews, Surveys, Systems review Analyze findings Develop recommendations and key next steps Timetables for implementation Schedule follow-up progress meetings Articulate to all faculty, staff and students diversity objectives, policies and initiatives through newsletters, intranet, seminars, posters and memorandums Enhance diversity websit e Numerical metrics Diversity Score Card Staff meeting discussions Annual employee/student surveys

Climate Assessment Projected Timeline Spring 2012 FebruaryPhase I. Initial proposal meeting with the CSWG Phase I. Meetings (conference calls) with the CSWG to begin work on the assessment tool Phase I. Review of salient data and other information as provided by the CSWG Mar-MayPhase II.
