Homework and academic achievement had no correlation with each other Opinion: 1. Teachers should focus on quality over quantity Supporting point: There is a researched that has been conducted by the Indiana University School of Education faculty member shows that only a small connection between the homework causing better results for science and mathematics students Opinion: 1.Teacher should assign appropriate homework Supporting point: Cooper and colleagues' (2006) comparison of homework with no homework indicates that the average student in a class in which appropriate homework was assigned would score 23 percent points higher on tests of the knowledge addressed in that class than the average student in a class in which homework was not assigned.

Diminish interest in learning among students Supporting point : Bryan, Nelson, and Mathru (1995) claim that homework overexposes children to academic duties, decreasing their interest and increasing their physical and emotional fatigue According to Harris Cooper the good effect of the homework on the accomplishment disappears and even might turn to negative effects Opinion: 1.When student were been force to do homework, they will start to take the homework as a burden

Homework can be one of the reason families are at strain Opinion: 1.A very good platform for student and family to bonding with each other 2. Through homework, communication between student, parents and other sibling can be developed. Counter point Some researchers have found that homework has a positive effect on parents and families by allowing them to show an interest in their children's academic progress (Hoover-Dempsey et al. 2001)

No homework giving the student chance to learn on how to make choice Opinion: 1. Children have the privilege to make their own choice. Supporting point: According to Cera many kids like to write journal, playing music with friends and brings their experiments home to show to their parents Opinion: 1. Homework also can teach students about skill that is not include in their curriculum. Counter point: homework helped third graders learn responsibility and develop time-management and job-management skills. Corno and Xu (2004)

Amount of homework that appropriate to different level of student Amount of homework that appropriate to different level of student Supporting point: 1.According to Kohn (2006), teachers should only assign homework when they can justify that the assignments are “beneficial” 2.Even for these oldest students, too much homework may diminish its effectiveness or even become counterproductive. Cooper, Robinson, and Patall (2006) Research: second graders which is by age is from five to nine years old should finish only 10 to 20 minutes of homework a day third to sixth graders which is by age is 8 to 11 years old should only get to spend time for homework not more than 30 to 60 minutes a day.

Parents should play a very important role in ensuring the homework that the school gives to their children Supporting point: Kralovec and Buell (2001) note that homework critics rarely question the work assigned but rather the fact that the work is so often performed at home without adult supervision to aid the learning process. According to kohn to know about a good quality homework or not is by asking two important question which is the first question does the homework make kids more inspirit about the topic and also learning in general while the second question does the homework assist students to think more deeply about the topic Opinion: 1.Parent should know school policy in giving homework. 2. Parents should always participate in their children learning process

CONCLUSION: 1.Teacher should monitor the type of homework that they want to assign to their students so that the effort that their student put to finish the homework is not been wasted 2.Homework is very useful if it been giving in the right time spent at appropriate level of students. 3.
