2. @ ASIS International Headquarters The Information Resources Center (IRC) is located on the 3 rd floor of ASIS International headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia.

3. Information Resources Center (IRC) The IRC is open Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. We are closed on U.S. federal holidays.

4. Information Resources Center (IRC) The American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) established the O.P. Norton Information Resources Center (IRC) in 1984. O.P. Norton, CPP, was the Executive Director of ASIS from 1972 to 1977. One of his goals was the establishment of a security library at HQ for members.

5. In 2009 we celebrated the IRC’s 25 th Anniversary!

6. The Collection Members have free, onsite use of the library's collection of more than 50,000 security materials in print or media formats. Our virtual library of digital security resources is increasing daily.

7. Books, monographs and documents are shelved for patrons’ access and are easy to find. Need help? IRC staff provides assistance if needed.

8. Audiotape cassettes recorded at ASIS Annual Seminar Sessions from 1984 to 2007 may be used onsite only. 2008 sessions through the current year are on CDROM or DVD formats, also available for onsite review.

9. Reference materials include bibliographies, directories, databases, research guides, indexes and other security information resources and finding aids developed by the ASIS librarians.

10. Books, reports, standards and guidelines along with other ASIS publications, are displayed for visitors.

11. The IRC collection includes over 25,000 issues of security magazines, journals, and newsletters, some spanning the years from 1950’s to the present.

12. An Internet connection is available to access the ASIS website and search the IRC Online. Instruction and guidance is gladly provided.

13. WiFi (wireless) access in the study area offers visitors the convenience of working onsite.

14. Onsite ASIS Bookstore The ASIS bookstore displays at least one copy of each title for customers to purchase onsite. If you wish to purchase quantities of ASIS publications, please call in advance.

15. The IRC assists thousands of members each year with security related inquiries; primarily by email and telephone. If you are one of these “remote” ASIS members, we hope you’ve enjoyed this virtual library tour, and that you may someday have the opportunity to visit the IRC in person!
