3. 23 / 07 / 2007 Summary of the programme  Aims at providing participants with a clearer view on the importance of information in general and their environments in particular  Aims at sharpening technological skills of individuals who work as information intermediaries.  Covers everything from information acquisition to information retrieval.

4. 23 / 07 / 2007 Suggestions to improve organisation of the programme  Study materials should be recycled and participants should only pay a refundable fee upon receipt of the materials  Given the short period allocated to the programme certain courses should be given priority

5. 23 / 07 / 2007 Positive aspects of the programme  Visits to different libraries gave participants an idea of what is expected of modern libraries  The programme gives participants the opportunity to be taught by experienced Professors who are experts in their fields

6. 23 / 07 / 2007 Best components of the programme  Provision of ICT tools for use by the participants (laptops)  Excellent study environment (well equiped lecture rooms) with lecturers keeping to schedule

7. 23 / 07 / 2007 The not so best components of the programme  Statistics is a very complex but essential course, therefore, more time should be allocated to it rather than the few widely spaced lectures, it made concentration and understanding very difficult  Presentation on the ocean data and information networks and Marine information (Library) management did not seem relevant

8. 23 / 07 / 2007 Recommendations to the University of Zambia library  The Library should maximise the use of free information resources to create electronic library initiatives so as to improve service delivery  Former participants should form a working committee so they can implement what they learnt  Request Library management to invest in staff training like further training on Winisis, Webdesign etc.
