The pongal festival! -Pongal marks the beginning of Uttarayana (the farming season). -It is the only Hindu festival that follows the solar calendar. -Bogi is celebrated on January 13, 'Pongal' on January 14, Maattuppongal on January 15, and Thiruvalluvar Day on January 16.

The Sankranti festival!
-Sankranti is celebrated in all parts of India and is a harvest festival. -Hindu’s believe that Sankranti is when the sun god comes out and that the sun stands for knowlage. -It is celebrated on the 14th of Jauary like the Pongal festival.

Diwali -Diwali is an holiday which is celebrated in most countries in Asia. -Diwali is known as the festival of lights is a festival celebrated between mid-October and December. -Fire crackers are sent off to protect people from evil.
