2 Canvas Creek was founded by Karen Grosz, an experienced business owner, coach and trainer. Karen was a reluctant fan of most team building concepts, she felt that too much time was wasted and generally the results were short lived. When Karen was hit by a flash of inspiration- team painting- it set her mind in motion. She tested her concept on family, friends and then in a full test setting until satisfied this concept worked, was fun, and was a viable option for a wide range of people. While optimistic, Karen did not expect to have such success with families, fund raisers and party events, those were happy results of a concept with wide appeal. Karen working at a fund raiser

3 We are like no other team building company. No Ropes. No Crying. No Kumbaya. While a few other companies use paint to build a team, none do it in the style of Canvas Creek. Our appeal is our simplicity, our ‘rules’ of process, the speed of the event, and, most importantly, the finished product, which becomes a lasting and powerful reminder to the team of what they can do- together!

4 Painting is one of those activities no-one feels like they can accomplish, yet everyone feels comforted and experimental because it is a familiar experience of childhood. It is also ageless- there is no technology involved, no histrionics, and no pressure to do more than fill a canvas with color…together.

5 The events are FUN! The results are powerful. We find that once people paint together, in the style of Canvas Creek, they want to do it again. You will often hear Karen say it is powerful enough to be effective, and fun enough to be a party. No other team building can say that!

They begin as a group- even if they think they are a team. They become a team when they realize they can create art. At the end, they believe in their team and the pride they feel in accomplishment. There are the same three stages to coaching.

You need no artistic ability …okay, a little doesn’t hurt, but it’s not required. We will teach you everything you need to know about helping others to create a canvas filled with their story!

17 Our Studio/Training Facility in Downtown Billings Montana Your Certified Coaches training will take place in beautiful, easy to reach, Billings, Montana. We have a marvelous facility designed for your comfort and creativity while going through this process! We train small groups- only 3-5 coaches at a time and if you have 3 coach candidates in your city, we will bring the training to you! Note!- having a studio is NOT necessary to be a Canvas Creek coach. Most of your trainings will be done at the clients business or home. We have this facility because of the variety of events we use it for during the year. Collaborative Floor created by 100 people!

20 Founders Note I wish I could take you to coffee and tell you every story from Canvas Creek, every result we have seen and all of the dreams I have for this amazing concept. Since I can’t, I want you to know this- it works. It’s so powerful I’ve been known to cry during the process and then make others cry when I tell them the stories. Watch our YOuTube videos and it will give you a small idea of the impact you can have on your clients, friends and family, with Canvas Creek. We have seen families use seven pounds of paint before forgiving each other. We have seen fighting teams fight and then support each other. We have seen strong teams go on to do even better things. One of my favorite stories is about an engineer who didn’t know what to do with all of the emotion he felt after watching 80 high school sophomores paint. He walked up to me, with a very tense expression, and said “I think I just have to hug you.” We have been great friends ever since.
