11
on it day and night. He is like a tree planted beside streams of water that bears its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.”
12
II. LOVE FOR TIMES OF PRAYER
13
1. David loved to pray.
14
*it was because God answered him Psalm 116:1-2 “I love the Lord because He has heard my appeal for mercy. Because He has turned His ear to me, I will call out to Him as long as I live.”
15
*it was because God blessed him Psalm 116:12-13 “How can I repay the Lord for all the good He has done for me? I will take the cup of salvation and call on the name of Yahweh.”

19
*He prayed in times of great trial -Gethsemane -The Cross
20
3. How is your love for prayer? Psalm 32:1-7 “How joyful is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered! How joyful is the man the Lord does not charge with sin and in whose spirit is no deceit! When I kept silent, my bones became brittle from my groaning all day
21
long. For day and night Your hand was heavy on me; my strength was drained as in the summer’s heat. Then I acknowledged my sin to You and did not conceal my iniquity. I said, I will confess my transgressions to the Lord, and You took away the guilt of my sin. Therefore, let everyone
22
who is faithful pray to You at a time that You may be found. When great flood waters come, they will not reach him. You are my hiding place; You protect me from trouble. You surround me with joyful shouts of deliverance.”
23
Philippians 4:6-7 “Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.’

God, a great King above all gods. The depths of the earth are in His hand, and the mountain peaks are His. The sea is His; He made it. His hands formed the dry land. Come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For He is our God, and we are the people of His
29

42
believe You sent Me. I have given them the glory You have given Me. May they be one as We are one. I am in them and You are in Me. May they be made completely one, so the world may know You have sent Me and have loved them as You have loved Me.”
43
*He died for us to have unity Colossians 3:12-14 “Therefore, God’s chosen ones, holy and loved, put on heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, accepting one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a complaint against
44
another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you must also forgive. Above all, put on love—the perfect bond of unity.”
45
3. How is your love for unity in the body? Romans 16:17-18 “Now I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause dissensions and obstacles contrary to the doctrine you have learned. Avoid them, for such people do not serve our Lord Christ but
46
their own appetites. They deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting with smooth talk and flattering words.”
47
-God was confident that David would do all He asked of him, -Jesus was willing to do all that God asked of Him. -Are you willing to do all God asks of you?
