2 What is the Challenge? Campaign to help people save energy at home. Free advice from energy experts and possibly upgrade rebates Weekly prize drawings, Facebook competitions, group giveaways

3 Challenge goals At least 2000 residents pledged At least 800 significant upgrades Mayor Beutler joins the Challenge.

5 Energy Checkups Basic Energy Checkup Trained staff/volunteers Professional Energy Checkup (limited number available) Certified auditor Homes must meet the following specifications to receive a Professional Energy Checkup: Built in or before 1980 Show demonstrated need on application form

6 Upgrade Rebates Qualified homes that receive an energy checkup may qualify for an upgrade rebate up to $250.

7 Upgrade Rebates ENERGY STAR qualified furnace or air conditioning equipment Insulation Caulking, weather stripping, window film, foam insulating gaskets High-efficiency lighting Programmable thermostat ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerator Recycling services for appliances Renewable energy systems Associated construction/installation labor for any items above

8 Prizes Weekly: gift cards/CFLs Facebook: Recycling for a year

9 Group Giveaways Schools, businesses, non-profits, faith-based groups and neighborhood associations may earn prizes. – Neighborhood Association: 50 pledges – Businesses/Non-profits: 25 pledges – Faith-based group: 50% of congregation – Schools: 30% of enrollment

10 Community Education Monthly informational sessions on residential energy efficiency First Tuesday of every month Attendees may join volunteer upgrade event team and receive a FREE t-shirt. Contact us if you’d like to attend.
