2 E.g.: I have studied English since last year. She has worked at the store for four years. We have lived here for more than ten years. One of the uses of the Present Perfect Tense is to talk about events and actions that started in the past and continue up to the present. PRESENT PERFECT TENSE * In this case, two signal words are used: FOR and SINCE.

3 Common mistakes: I love English! I study English for 2 years. I love English! I have studied English for 2 years. My brother has knew his friend since last year. My brother has known his friend since last year. PRESENT PERFECT TENSE

5 HAVE/HAS + PAST PARTICIPLE OF THE VERB The Past Participle of the regular verbs follows the same rules of the past form. The Past Participle of the irregular verbs doesn’t follow any rules, each one is different from the other. This is how the Present Perfect Tense is formed: PRESENT PERFECT TENSE

6 SINCE is used to define a point in time when the action started. Bill has played soccer since he was 5. FOR / SINCE FOR is used to describe a period of time defining the duration of the action. They have known each other for 23 years.
