2 Objective: to teach the basics of recruiting and hiring through a presentation and games Ice breaker –> for groups of 20 + How to begin recruiting Hiring techniques Case study Check point questions Videos and helpful material Board game -> 2-5 players

3  Entrepreneur Autograph Bingo  Everyone needs a board and a pen  Each person fills out the board with facts about themselves – at least half the board has to be work related goals or objectives  Need to find others with the same facts and sign each other’s boards  First person to obtain five in a row wins the game  Each person can only sign a board once

5 To determine where to begin (At this stage talking to an HR employee or trusted business friend is highly suggested)  Decide what position(s) you want to hire for  List skill sets you want your employee(s) to have  Plan the means you’ll use to get the word out  Create a job description

6 1. Estimate how many people you wish to interview 2. Set up interviews within a week period 3. Have a list of questions prepared 4. Review to decide who is best qualified

7  Why do you want to work here?  What skills do you have to make you the best candidate?  Tell me about a leadership experience.  Tell me about a time you had to overcome a hardship.  Tell me your three greatest strengths.  What hours are you available?  What experiences do you have working in a team?  Can you travel?  How much do you expect to make a day/hour?  What job experience have you had?  Do you have any references?

8  Take notes during the interview  Write down key responses  The questions you wrote down are a guideline; feel free to engage in conversation  When all interviews are finished, thank the interviewee and let them know when they should expect to hear from you

9  Review your results with a business partner or human resource employee  If deciding between two last candidates, have a second round interview  Otherwise, call and congratulate your new employee and set a date for he/she to finalize details (hours, days, pay, etc.)
