2. www.cisv.org What is the Global Hosting Plan? It is a tool intended to help CISV as an organization to do the following: Plan so that we know in advance more or less how many programmes CISV will host over the next few years. Maintain stable hosting figures from year to year and avoid big differences in number of hosted programmes (which affects the number of available participant positions). Help the organization grow by setting targets.

3. www.cisv.org Why do we need a Global Hosting Plan One of CISV’s strategic priorities is sustainable growth. In order to grow as an organization and reach more people we need to plan for more programmes. By adopting and working with a Global Hosting Plan, we can plan our hosting numbers more strategically and realistically (i.e. grow in a sustainable way).

4. www.cisv.org What does the Global Hosting Plan look like? The Global Hosting Plan fits in an excel document. It shows the regional and global hosting targets per programme and year. It compares regional hosting targets and hosting offers. It shows the hosting offers per NA.

8. www.cisv.org How does the Global Hosting Plan work? Each year at the AIM, the International Programme committees recommend hosting targets for one more year in the plan. They may also recommend revisions to existing targets (based on heir analysis and input from the regions) The recommendations are presented to the International Board for discussion and formal approval. During the year, the regions (together with their ReCos) work with the plan, trying to align it to national hosting plans and coordinate their offers to match the plan. By 1 June, the NAs confirm their hosting offers for the next year by submitting the Host and Participant Data Sheets.

9. www.cisv.org Who needs to know about it? Planning as region requires communication and coordination. Most of the regional coordination (hosting offers) takes place at the Regional Meetings and at the AIM. It involves the Trustees (or NA Representatives) and the GPS ReCos. The Global Hosting Plan should also be linked to the hosting plans within NAs (and Chapters). This involves Chapter Representatives and National Programme Coordinators. Any changes or additions to the hosting plan must go through the GPS ReCo, who then informs the IO. The IO updates the main document and uploads in Resources.

11. www.cisv.org Terminology The Global Hosting Plan works with two types of figures: Hosting targets= the plan (What we are aiming for. These should be seen as a minimum that we do not want to fall below) Hosting offers= reality (what we are capable of hosting)

13. www.cisv.org Summary The Global Hosting Plan is a planning tool and a five-year plan. It is a tool to help CISV plan its Programme hosting ahead of time and give us enough time to work on future hosting numbers. The plan is that the number of hosted Programmes will reflect what the organization is aiming for rather than what we happen to end up with.

The more Programmes an NA hosts, the more invitations it earns (= the hospitality formula) The more Programmes CISV hosts globally, the more invitations must be filled (= recruitment) By hosting the same or more number of Programmes every year, the number of invitations your earn from year to year will be more reliable.

Do we use all the invitations we earn? How many more Programmes do we have to host in order to earn the number of invitations we want?
