3
3 LincView OPC Example
4
4 LincView operates in parallel with normal network operation Graphical view of entire wireless network Programmable warning/alarms with logging Visibility of both ends of each RF path OPC Server Supports multiple radio networks Features
5
5 LincView data is secondary to user data so LincView performance will degrade on heavily loaded systems Diagnostic information is exchanged along with user data so user data throughput could be affected LincView / Radio Performance
6
6 Primarily radio network analysis Radio network startup In-service network health Network benchmarking Network reconfiguration or tuning Secondarily OPC Server for OPC clients Radio network event detection and alarming Correlate radio network and process events Historical / trend data archiving Predictive and preventative maintenance Why LincView?
7
7 RS232 Example Requires 6X00 Serial Kit (930-11771-000) or /DIAG option
8
8 Ethernet UDP Example No diagnostic kit required
9
9 Ethernet TCP/IP Example Requires 6X10 Ethernet Kit (930-11772-000) or /DIAG option
10
10 Radios Newer version SRM6210E or SRM6310E Newer version SRM6000 or SRM6100 SRM7210E All SRM6220 or SRM6320 DIAG port option on master radio for RS232 or TCP/IP diagnostic communications Point-To-Multipoint networks Minimum Requirements
11
11 Diagnostic port option not needed Full Capability: All SRM7210E radios New series SRM6xxx radios Partial Capability: Old series radios SRM radios require at least 5.63 or 1.58 firmware. With old Series radio repeaters the radios RF connected to a repeater are not visible in LincView. Non-Master Radio Requirements
12
12 1. Configure the radio network. 2. Install the LincView OPC program. 3. Configure LincView OPC and observe status, “Communicating with master…” Setup Overview / Installation
13
13 Run the LincView setup program and answer typical setup questions. Start by double clicking the LincView icon on the desktop. Choose an existing network file or type the name of a file. LincView is running. NOTE: Windows 7, set compatibility LincView OPC Program Installation
14
14 RS232 Configuration Requires 6X00 Serial Kit (930-11771-000) or /DIAG option
15
15 Applicable to SRM6x00, SRM6x10E and SRM7210E Install diagnostic port on master radio Enter master radio configuration: At main menu choose option 5 (Multipoint Parameters), then change option B (Diagnostics) to 1 - 63 (15 Suggested) (NOTE: With SRM7210E radios use 4 or greater) At main menu choose option 3 (radio transmission characteristics) and ensure option B (MCU Speed) is set to 1 Optionally but not recommended, a password may be set in the radio Set “Password” (Main Menu option 8) to your Password (I.e. 1234). Other Radios: No Menu changes Needed Connect Diagnostic computer to diagnostic port with a C232/SRM60/PC cable Radio: RS232 Setup
16
16 Click the ‘Serial Port’ radio button and choose a COM port LincView: RS232 Configuration If properly configured this will change to “Talking to master…”
17
17 Ethernet UDP Configuration No diagnostic kit required
18
18 For all Radios in the network: Remove side panel opposite the antenna Set the “Cmpr Switch” (compression) to ON Master radio configuration: At main menu choose option 5 (Multipoint Parameters) then option B (Diagnostics) and set to 129 At main menu choose option 0 (Set Operation Mode) then option F (Ethernet Options) Choose option 4 (IP Address) and set to an unused IP Address on your network segment (i.e. 192.168.1.214) If option 5 is present (UDP Port), set to 4131 At main menu choose option 3 (radio transmission characteristics) and ensure option B (MCU Speed) is set to 1 Optionally but not recommended, a password may be set in the radio Set “Password” (Main Menu option 8) to your Password (I.e. 1234). Radio: Ethernet UDP Setup
19
19 Choose the UDP radio button Set IP Address to master radio IP address Set Port Number to master radio port number (4131) Enter the master radio password if set in the radio LincView: Ethernet UDP Setup If properly configured this will change to “Talking to master…”
20
20 Ethernet TCP/IP Configuration Requires 6X10 Ethernet Kit (930-11772-000) or /DIAG option
21
21 Master radio configuration: At main menu choose option 5 (Multipoint Parameters), then option B (Diagnostics) and set to 1 - 63 (15 Suggested) (NOTE: With SRM7210E radios use 4 or greater) At main menu choose option 3 (radio transmission characteristics) and ensure option B (MCU Speed) is set to 1 Optionally but not recommended, a password may be set in the radio Set “Password” (Main Menu option 8) to your Password (I.e. 1234). All other radios: No changes required Terminal Server (we use Lantronix UDS100) Configure Terminal Server per manufacturer’s instructions and 115,000 bps, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 start bit, 1 stop bit Set IP address and port number Connect Terminal Server to radio’s diagnostic port with /C232/SRM60/PC cable Connect Terminal Server to Ethernet Radio: Ethernet TCP/IP Setup
22
22 Choose TCP/IP radio button Set IP Address to Terminal Server’s IP address Set Port Number to Terminal Server’s port number LincView: Ethernet TCP/IP Setup If properly configured this will change to “Talking to master…”

23 LincView Master Radio Example Master radio Test antenna removed
24
24 LincView Remote Radio Example Values at this radio’s end of the RF link Values for this radio at opposite end of the RF link
25
25 To configure LincView Server Name choose OPC from the menu bar then enter the name. Restart LincView whenever the name is changed LincView OPC Server Name

26 RSView32
27
27 Using the node editor create a node and attach to the LincView OPC server name. RSView32 Internal Setup (Cont.)
28
28 Using the RSView32 tag database, create a new tag and associate it to a LincView radio value. RSView32 Internal Setup (Cont.)

30 Do not set a password in the master radio. If you are confident the master radio and LincView OPC settings are correct yet the status bar does not say, “Talking to master on…” then a password may be needed in LincView even though no password is set in the radio. Enter any two character password. If still not talking there is a configuration mistake. Errata - Password If properly configured this will change to “Talking to master…” Enter password here
