1 The Armor of God Ephesians 6:10-18

2 Armor and Prayer Prayer is communication with God, we belong to His lineage so we need to have the right family attire (Aso Ebi) Prayer is spiritual warfare against the enemy, so we need to know the artillery to use against him.

3 POINTS TO CONSIDER The armor belongs to God.
You cannot be strong in any other armor. Vs 10 In 1 Sam. 17:38-40, David was unable to function with Saul’s armor because it was an armor of fear, timidity and limitation. It was an arm of flesh, which eventually fails (Jeremiah 17:5) 2. It is an invisible armour but it is real because it is spiritual

4 POINTS TO CONSIDER When worn daily and properly, it provides protection against the enemy, and it also grants us access to the King in the place of prayer. 4. There is no work needed from us. The victory has been worn by Christ at Calvary. All we need to do is put on the armor!

7 Belt of Truth The belt keeps the others together. In the ancient army, the belt could be as a protection against vital organs like the intestines and kidneys The Truth protects us The Truth holds us together against the wiles of the devil. The Truth of the Word of God is the way to God in place of prayer. John 14:6

8 The Breastplate of Righteousness
This guards our hearts against the wickedness of this world and also from arrows from the devil Righteousness is who you are in Christ Our righteousness is through Christ 2 Cor. 5:21 4. Understanding our right standing is important in the place of prayer

9 We step on him with the gospel of peace
Protective, sturdy footwear against the sharp stones the devil scatters along our way to slow us down. We step on him with the gospel of peace Where ever we go, peace must accompany us Romans 10:15

10 The Gospel of Peace 4. 1 Peter 3:15. The devil will try to get you confused lies (not everyone can be healed, God answers prayers by “yes, no, wait’) 5. We can bypass him in the place of prayer when we have the gospel

11 Shield of Faith This is the most important weapon of defence. It fends off arrows, swords and other arsenals from the enemy. It guards against one of the devil’s deadliest weapons: doubt (Mark 11:23) Also the most important requirement for prayer (Hebrews 11:6)

12 The Helmet of Salvation
Protects the head, the center of thoughts and knowledge The knowledge of the truth of our salvation through Christ gives us confidence in the place of prayer This also sets us free from vain searching, condemnation of sin, meaningless temptations (John 8:32)

4. The helmet gives us the power to protect our thoughts from the devil (2 Corinthians 10:5)

14 The Sword of the Spirit The Word of God The powerful offensive weapon against the enemy (Hebrews 4:12) Jesus used the Word against the devil when He was tempted (Matt.4:1-10) We also use in defence (Warfare) Meditate on the Word Speak the Word to God in prayer

15 Praying in the Spirit We must keep the line of communication open Praying in the spirit is our secret code or language with God The devil does not understand it and so he is confused (1 Cor. 14:2)

16 The armor only covers the front! God is not interested in your past
Conclusion The armor only covers the front! God is not interested in your past failures and successes (Phil. 3:13) Don’t turn your back to the devil, you don’t want to get hit on your butt. The fight is for your future Don’t run, face the devil. Gives you confidence in the throne room of God.

17 CONFESSION I BODLY DECLARE IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS THAT I AM STRONG AND BOLD IN THE POWER OF GOD. I HAVE GRACE TO PUT ON THE ARMOR OF GOD DAILY, THEREFORE I AM VICTORIOUS OVER THE ATTACKS OF THE DEVIL. I WILL NOT BE AFRAID BECAUSE I STAND ON THE ROCK. MY MIND IS SHARP, MY SPIRIT IS ALERT AND I WALK DAILY IN THE VICTORY THAT HAS BEEN ACCOMPLISHED BY MY SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST. AMEN
