HPPH Programme A key focus is to enhance and develop theoretical, conceptual, historical and critical understandings of public health and health promotion. To apply critical knowledge and understandings to explore ethical, political and policy debates that inform public health and health promotion policy / practice Provide an academic learning experience in a supportive environment that aims to produce reflective practitioners, policymakers and academics

Interdisciplinarity A range of subject disciplines informs the curriculum eg Epidemiology, Demography, Policy, Sociology, Psychology, Geography, History, Critical Public Health, Critical Health Promotion Principles, perspectives and practices in Health Promotion and Public Health – core skills and knowledge Diverse methodologies: statistics, qualitative, quantitative, media, systematic reviews Link theory and policy / practice

Exploring the perceptions of the Ghanaian community living in London towards accessing Voluntary Counselling HIV testing (VCT)services What are the perceived (health) benefits associated with active participation in choral singing? Student Profile Of interest to a wide range of professionals working in health and social care, local government, education and the voluntary sector Of interest to students with first degrees in health, social sciences, biosciences, biomedicine who want to gain knowledge and skills in health promotion and public health International, UK and EU students Full time – over 1 year Part time – over 2 – 3 years Teaching days - Tuesdays / Wednesdays
