3 Digit Subtraction Terms Minuend: the starting number Subtrahend: the number being subtracted Difference: the ending number or answer 245 - 123 122 Minuend Subtrahend Difference

3 Digit Subtraction Instructions Start with the last number (ones place) of each 3 digit number and find the difference. Work your way to the left following the same instructions. If there is not enough to subtract from, take from the number to the left and add it to the number.
