Provide financial assistance in the form of low interest loans and/or grants: Self Improvement Loan Program (Class C) Financial assistance through small loans ($1k-$5k) to assist in emergency situations such as: compassionate travel, urgent home and car repairs, minor renovation projects, etc. Financial Distress Program Grants and loans when warranted by distress or other qualifying circumstances. The lifetime maximum for assistance is $5,000 for a grant and $25,000 for a loan. Education Assistance Loan Program (Reservists with 1 year of Reg Force service) Loans ($1,2k to $4k per year, max $16k per student) to assist eligible serving members, former members and their recognized dependants to obtain a post-secondary education (full-time studies). 17 Canadian Forces Personnel Assistance Fund (CFPAF)
