Summary of Oct. 2009 ITU-R WP5D #6 Six proposals received by Oct 7, the IMT-Advanced proposal submission deadline – Proposal based on 802.16 (from IEEE, Japan, TTA) – Proposal based on LTE-Advanced (from 3GPP, Japan, China * ) Reviewed all proposal submissions at the 6 th ITU-R WP5D meeting of 14-21 Oct in Dresden, Germany Considered as two technologies – IEEE Technology (three proposals are technically identical) – 3GPP Technology (three proposals are technically identical) All proposals considered “complete submissions” Step 3 (proposal submissions) completed and Step 4 (external evaluations) initiated Correspondence Group (CG) formed to facilitate external evaluations Evaluation Groups presented in 3 rd IMT-Advanced Workshop * China proposed only TDD component of LTE-Advanced (TD-LTE-Advanced)

Outcome of WP 5D #8 Evaluation Reports from external evaluation groups were presented and reviewed (see next slide) WP 5D developed acknowledgments back to evaluation groups (IMT-ADV documents) WP 5D agreed that steps 4 and 5 of the process are COMPLETE WP 5D preliminary concluded that step 6 is also complete – Started filling out of M.2113 compliance templates which contains WP 5D view that both technologies meet the requirements – To be included in IMT.RADIO to be finalized at 5D#9

ITU ‑ R M.[IMT.RSPEC]. RIT/SRIT Proponents - Due to ITU-R by 6 Oct. 10 Delivery to ITU-R by RIT/SRIT Proponents of Form A. See Item 4 (Table 3). WP 5D Meeting #9 13 Oct. 10 20 Oct. 10 WP 5D takes note of the Form A’s in order to determine the structure of draft new Rec. ITU-R M.[IMT.RSPEC]. WP 5D provides liaisons to RIT/SRIT Proponents and GCS Proponents. GCS Proponents - Due to ITU-R by 2 Mar. 11 Delivery to ITU-R by the GCS Proponents of the Overview and either titles and synopsis of the GCS, or the Directly Incorporated Specification when GCS is not utilized. See Item 1(Table 2). Delivery to ITU-R of the Global Core Specifications by the GCS Proponents. Detailed transposition references would not be required at this point. See Item 2 (Table 2). Delivery to ITU-R of Certification B by GCS Proponents. See Item 5 (Table 3). WP 5D Meeting #10 9 Mar. 11 16 Mar. 11 WP 5D takes note of the Certification B’s. WP 5D finalizes and preliminarily agrees draft new Rec. ITU-R M.[IMT.RSPEC] (not necessarily including the detailed transposition references). WP 5D Liaison of the preliminary WP 5D agreed draft new Rec. ITU-R M.[IMT.RSPEC] to the relevant GCS Proponents and authorized Transposing Organizations for their use in developing their inputs of the detailed references. WP 5D Meeting #11 15 Jun. 11 22 Jun. 11 WP 5D addresses responses from External Organizations on draft new Rec. ITU-R M.[IMT.RSPEC] Transposing Organization (in the case of a GCS being utilized)s - Due to ITU-R by 21 Sep. 11 Delivery to ITU-R of transposition references by each Transposing Organization for incorporation into the WP 5D preliminary agreed draft new Rec.
