Justice for Gaza Rewan Bezabih Capstone 12 Ms. Thorpe 2 nd Period

Core Question & Sub Questions Why should the Israelis give the land they took from Palestinians, back to Palestinians? Why are Israelis accused of the genocide of Palestinians? What are the Solutions to end the conflict? How does the conflict affect Arab countries and the rest of the world?

Israel-Palestine Conflict The two countries, Israel and Palestine, had a conflict for over a century fighting on specific lands located in the Middle East. The conflict started as the United Nation decided to partition Palestine because of the tragedy the Jews exploited in the Holocaust. Declaring their Independence, Israelis occupied the territories of Palestine using their military force. Israel’s occupations of territories in the 1967 war include the West Bank, Gaza, Sinai Peninsula and the Golan Heights.

Thesis Statement Global Issue: Due to Jerusalem’s significance to the monotheistic religions (Muslims, Jews, and Christians), the conflict has been a global issue that affects People around the world. Moreover, Palestinians being refugees and moving to the Arab countries influences the Arab’s economy. Social Justice: The Palestinians communities are extremely vulnerable to violation of economic, social and cultural rights, and are segregated by a wall built by the Israelis. Since the Occupation of Palestine by Israelis the people of Palestine have been unjustifiably exiled; therefore Israel should grant the land back to Palestinians because annexation is a crime, genocide is inhumane, and enhances economy for Arab countries.

The Genocide in Palestine The Israel-Palestine conflict is a human right violation and a genocide of Palestinians. Women are tortured, Men are imprisoned, children are murdered, lands are robbed.

The Occupation of Gaza Israelis are criminals for occupying Palestinian’s territories. Article 49 prohibits mass movement of people out of or into occupied territory. Israelis have exiled the Palestinians from the place they have ever known and have made them refugees.

Israel and Arab countries The Israel-Palestine conflict decreases the relation of Arab countries with Israel and influences their economy. The Arab Leagues have created an organization called the central Boycott office to prevent Arab states and discourage non-Arabs from directly or indirectly contributing to Israel’s economic and military strength. Exiling the Palestinians from their land and making them refugees impacts the Arab’s countries economically.

Interview with Fairuz Mohammad 1.How does the wall protect both Israeli and Palestinian? Do the Palestinians consider the wall as discrimination? 2. Do Palestinians have hope that they will get their land back? Why? 3.What are the rest of the World doing to help the people that are suffering? 4.What is the solution to end the war? 5.: Which of the two countries denied the ‘’two-state solution’’? Why? 6.Do both sides of the country, Jews and Muslims, share the holy place?

Peace is the Solution Few of the many peace negotiations that have failed so far: 1.Palestinian Interim Agreement on the West Bank and the Gaza strip 2.Gaza-Jericho Agreement: an agreement to withdrawal of Israeli military forces from Gaza and Jericho. The only potential solution is: 1.Returning the lands Israeli have occupied to the Palestinians 2.Both the Muslims and the Jews have to share the land respecting Other’s religions. 3.Prevent the Boycott against Israel to create Peace with Israel and the Arab countries.
