Maximum resilience Continuous live and playback – no matter what type of interruption or failure occurs. Management Server: Logs every action, manages settings and controls alarms. Video Recording Manager: Acts as the “traffic cop” for all cameras and knows where data is stored. Cameras: Up to 2,000 cameras record with a single VRM, but can also run independently. iSCSI Storage: Primary and secondary storage houses all the data recorded. Mirrored iSCSI: Second recording stream stored into a different storage location. Operator Client Automatic Network Replenishment Camera Management Server iSCSI (primary) LAN Video Recording Manager iSCSI (mirrored) iSCSI (secondary)

Maximum resilience Continuous live and playback – no matter what type of interruption or failure occurs. The elements of maximizing availability Management Server: Logs every action, manages settings, controls alarms and monitors health of devices. Video Recording Manager: Acts as the “traffic cop” for all cameras and knows where all camera data is stored. Cameras: Up to 2,000 cameras record with the VRM, but can also run independently if VRM goes down. Storage: Primary and secondary storage houses all the data recorded. iSCSI: Internet Small Computer System Interface – a form of backup storage that mirrors data from other resources in the event of a prolonged failure. Even in the event of a disaster scenario, Bosch VMS will be up and running. If: Video Recording Manager fails Then: Cameras record independently If: Primary storage fails Then: Secondary storage starts If: Primary and secondary fail Then: Mirror recording available If: Network down for IP camera Then: SD card safes recording If: Management Server fails Then: Core functions still available from operator client, excluding alarms and status supervision Operator Client Automatic Network Replenishment Camera Management Server iSCSI (primary) LAN Video Recording Manager iSCSI (mirrored) iSCSI (secondary)

Reduced total cost of ownership Using a lower amount of servers means higher energy savings.
Bosch VMS guarantees the least number of servers and highest energy savings to optimize your total cost of ownership. Manage up to 2,000 cameras with a single server. Make additional servers obsolete. Saves up to 50% of storage. 2,000 cameras and 30 days of recording saves 20% of power consumption annually. Less maintenance with only one server to update. 1 Video-Input Cabinet 2 3 Encoder Cabinet 4 Server Cabinet 5 Storage Cabinet 6 7 Power Supply BOSCH VMS set-up Typical set-up
