Goals of the California Oil Recycling Enhancement Act Key Points Establish a network of Certified Collection Centers Implement grant programs for local jurisdictions Requires oil mfg to pay fee for oil sold in California Incentive payments for RIG, curbside, and CCC Significant changes due to SB 546 covered in “Look to the Future” session

USED OIL BLOCK GRANTS Key Elements of Block Grant Program Annual grants to local jurisdictions Entitlement grant amount based on per capita basis Minimum award of $5,000 for cities and $10,000 for counties No matching funds required Must Have CCC or Curbside program

General Timeline for Used Oil Block Grant Cycle Grant Performance Period is for three years from July 1 to June 30 Annual On-line Report due each year by August 15 Retain all files for three years in case of audit

Targeted Outreach Target multiple DIY sectors ESL, Rural, Boaters, & Agriculture Outreach in more than one language PSAs in Spanish, Filipino, Vietnamese, etc. Use a variety of media, venues and premiums to convey message Utilize both mass media and person-to-person outreach Pledge Cards and Stickers Sponsor Youth Sports (parents may be DIY)
