The Great Line Pair Debate Line Pair per millimeter Line Pair per millimeter: A line pair is the association of one black line and one white line. The more lines you can distinguish, the higher the resolution. A line pair is a measure of a system’s ability to capture detail; that is resolution. Manufacturers claim anywhere from 6 to as much as 22 lp/mm. Does it really matter? In truth the human visual system can only resolve about 8 lp/mm at the best of times without magnification. So does 12 lp/mm or 20 lp/mm resolution really matter? The answer is NO! 10 lpmm 20 lpmm

Who is the system designed for? GP’s Pedodontist Orthodontists Endodontists Oral Surgeons
12
A Doctor or Staff who is: Cost Conscious Techno phobic Not Not looking for instant images Searching for a total digital solution So who is the system really designed for?

What Do You Need To Run ScanX? Class IV Pentium Chipset with 1gHZ Processor 20 GB Hard Drive USB 1.1 Capability 256 MB Ram Backup Device Part I – Hardware
14
Part II - Software
15
To Bridge or Not To Bridge? Simple Bridge: Simple Bridge: Provides direct access from one software title to another by selecting a provided icon. Open Bridge: Open Bridge: Provides direct access and data transferability from one software title to the next by selecting a provided icon. The next best thing to low level integration, in that it does not require the user to re- key an existing database. Only downside is the existence and maintenance of two databases. Low Level Integration: Low Level Integration: Provides direct access, acquisition, and manipulation of all images through one program and one database.
