Re-cutting Threads in our marriage

Is God free to bless your family? (Proverbs 3:33) The Lord's curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous. (Proverbs 12:7) Wicked men are overthrown and are no more, but the house of the righteous stands firm. (Proverbs 14:11) The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish. (Proverbs 20:7) The righteous man leads a blameless life; blessed are his children after him.

Choosing what’s better (Proverbs 15:16) Better a meal of vegetables where there is love than a fattened calf with hatred. (Proverbs 17:1) Better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting, with strife.

Grace – when wronged  (Proverbs 12:16) A fool shows his annoyance at once, but a prudent man overlooks an insult.  (Proverbs 17:9) He who covers over an offense promotes love.  (Proverbs 19:11) A man's wisdom gives him patience; it is to his glory to overlook an offense.

Gentle and Self-controlled (Proverbs 15:1) A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. (Proverbs 29:11) A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control.

Words that Heal and Help (Proverbs 12:25) An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up. (Proverbs 15:4) The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life.

Quarrelsome/Contentious (Proverbs 19:13) A quarrelsome wife is like a constant dripping. (Proverbs 21:9) Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife. (Proverbs 21:19) Better to live in a desert than with a quarrelsome and ill-tempered wife. (Proverbs 27:15-16) A quarrelsome wife is like a constant dripping on a rainy day; {16} restraining her is like restraining the wind or grasping oil with the hand.

Marriage Makers HER (1 Peter 3:3-4) Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. {4} Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight. HIM {1 Peter 3:7} Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.
