Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learned in the progression from it to the full product?
2
I created my preliminary magazine on Microsoft Publisher. It was limited in tools that I could use to make it look more professional.
3
In the preliminary task I learned how to create the basic layout of the magazine, including where the masthead should be and ways to lay out the contents page with numbered lists and images. I also learned how to choose colours that would have a contrast to each other so that the text is easy to read when it is on coloured text boxes.
4
I learned how to edit on Photoshop. I used tools such as the curve tool and I modified the saturation, contrast and brightness of my images to make them look more effective and professional. I also used drop shadows to make the white text of my pull quote stand out more.
5
I learned how to present my work on a blog effectively to show the process that I have gone through to reach my end product. I was able to change the layout, text and font to make it more personal and conform to the subject of my media product.
6
I learned that I can manipulate lighting to make images look more effective. Photos will look better in natural lighting as apposed to photos taken in the dark with a flash. I also learned about different camera angles, medium close-up shots are most effective for a front cover because it shows the model’s expression, developing a relationship with the reader.
7
I also learned that there is a difference in how my photos looked depending on the camera that I used. When I used the DSLR camera, the photos looked different to the photos which were taken with the bridge camera. I had to edit the brightness and saturation of the images taken with the bridge camera to make them look more like the photos taken with the DSLR which I preferred.
