2 MICROWAVE SPECTROSCOPY A branch of chemistry concerned with sending microwave pulses at a molecule  measures the energy of rotation  reveals its structure

3 SPECTRUM FID (free induction decay) Electronics lab New spectrometer

4 PROGRAMMING C++ code Model and improve upon current computer program in present spectrometer

5 PULSE BOX Designed to control the timing of the spectrometer system Used test circuits to see if chips functioned correctly Matched circuit diagram of current pulse box

6 FUTURE DIRECTIONS Complete new spectrometer Can be used in radio astronomy, or to determine the structures of molecules
