3. 3 Services are processes generated in ALEPH that may: Manipulate the database in a certain way (e.g. build indexes) Produce reports of data (e.g. circulation statistics or budget reports) Produce correspondence (e.g. order lists or overdue notices)

4. 4 Services To access services, go to the Services option on the menu bar in the Circulation, Cataloging, ILL or Acquisitions client.

5. 5 Services Once you’ve selected a service, a window will be displayed prompting you for variables that will impact the report. For example, this is the General Circulation Statistics (cir-30) form:

6. 6 Services To fill out the form, use only lower case letters and no spaces in the output file field, select other options from available fields: When you have filled out the form, click Submit

7. 7 Task Manager

8. New Task Manager Interface Admin tab 8 The Task Manager interface has been removed from the ALEPH menu, and is now found in the Admin tab, which is found in all modules. The former tabs of the task Manager are all now nodes in the Admin tab: File List Batch Log Batch Queue Print Daemon

9. 9 Task Manager The File List displays the finished jobs that have printable results. This window allows you to move the results to your local drive where you can print or send them via e-mail depending on your print.ini setup.

10. 10 Task Manager To print, highlight your report name and click print:

11. 11 Task Manager If you wish to save your report to your computer, double-click on the report name, click OK.

12. 12 Task Manager The report name will appear in the upper pane and you can print from there.

13. 13 Task Manager The Batch Log displays the jobs that have run or are running, along with the description of the parameters used.

14. 14 Task Manager The Batch Queue lists the jobs that are waiting to be run. In order for the jobs to be processed, the “status” must be running.

15. 15 Task Manager The Print Daemon is used to transfer print files from the server to the workstation according to the print ID.
