Benefits More pets in homes (less strays) “It is impossible to determine how many stray dogs and cats live in the United States; estimates for cats alone range up to 70 million. – that is almost as many as the number of cats that are in homes (80 million)” 1 Less pets are euthanized, lives are saved. Lost pets are reunited with owners. Promotes the SPCA - Donations -Save money Source: 1 ASPCA April 15, 201015S.P.O.T.

April 15, 201020 Trending gives statistical analyses over a given timeframe for any number of data factors (IE How many black cats adopted on October 31 st, 2009?). Occupancy returns lists of animals, limited via the various parameters, similar to performing a search using the website. At-risk evaluations allow polling of owners that have exceeded a limit on an “at-risk” activity and may be investigated. Reporting Comes In Three Varieties S.P.O.T.

Search Algorithm S.P.O.T.’s search algorithm will first determine all zip codes within the search radius entered, the given zip code being the center point. It will then scan entries that match the location, then eliminate potential matches based on species, then gender, then breed and finally age. April 15, 201026S.P.O.T.

Budget Overview April 15, 201037S.P.O.T.
38
Price Line S.P.O.T. will be free to use as a browser for the general public It will also receive money from each shelter adoption from a monthly charge of $475.00 In addition, S.P.O.T. will offer an option to help support the service via donations Many pet companies, such as Iams or Purina, may pay to advertise on the website as well April 15, 201038S.P.O.T.
39

40
Return on Investment SPCA – More animals adopted – Less costs for feeding/euthanizing/body disposals of animals – More freed space – More donations from happy patrons – Profits from data mining Discover animal abuse – Animal factories – Negligent pet owners Statistical Data – Adoptions statistics (breed, shelter, location, etc) End-User (Pet Owner) – Increased chance of being reunited with lost pets – Find lost pets faster – Search available pets for adoption April 15, 201040S.P.O.T.
