6 Why Meeting Attendance? (A Positive Meeting Experience…)  Gives Members & Guests What They Want!  Networking, Jobs, Fellowship, Solutions, Ideas, Professional Development, Fun!  Increases Membership Value; More Likely to  Remain Members, Recruit Guests & New Members, Volunteer, be a Future Leader.  Is Better for the Speaker and Chapter  More (Audience) Energy/Leverage for Good Future Speakers

7 Chapter Meeting- Considerations  Pre-Planning  Dates, Locations, Topics, Communication, Food/drink  Time of day, Day of week, Networking time, CEUs  Know what attendees want  Relevant interests/industries, Assess, Survey Start/stop on time, allow time for introductions and job announcements (High Draft Pick) Pre-established greeters

8 Chapter Meeting- Considerations  Is the Meeting Environment Welcoming? Fun? No Egos? Caring?  Will anyone know that I am coming? That I am present? That I attended? Will anyone look like me?

Social Events – New Member Social with Executive board Tours – Educational, Facility, Wine tasting, student events Personal Delivery of Officer Directory (New Members) and Exit Survey (Former Members) 

12 Chapter Meeting- Considerations  “Great” Speakers Tend to Draw Better  Topic Selection Strategy-Broad/Specialized  Safety, Environment, Workers Comp, others  Meeting value not solely on speaker/topic Facilitate networking opportunities between guests/members  Names-pictures-names-introductions-names- relationships (Membership Update Sheet) 

Do we know them yet?  Professional Development  What do we need to change to give our members what they want?
