3  oyal mint was where coins were made, legally. Usually, before a law was passed, nobles use to mint their own coins. Minting coins is basically making your own coins with engravings. Though, King Louis XI made it illegal for one to use coins made anywhere else but the royal mint. He set up a royal court in which anyone could bring disputes to the law. R

Philip also increased the size of the kingdom by marriages and fighting for his French lands held by the English and winning. He appointed royal agents to keep watch on the nobles during the Crusades. A

8  In 900A.D. – 1500A.D. monarchies rose. Though today we no longer have monarchies, we now have a democracy. A democracy is a government for the people by the people. Government has improved but problems still arise. On May 6th 2013, a day that marks the end of Francois Hollande’s first year as president of France, thousands of French protested against him. They accused Hollande of contributing to Europe’s economic crisis by focusing on the interest of shareholders, of big businesses and of European austerity policies, to the detriment. Both section 1 about the early French, and the current event on the modern day French are about the development of government, from monarchies to democracy. The theme of this current event is peace and security. Current Event
