Parts of a Graph X-Axis: A horizontal line. Y-Axis: A vertical line. Title: A name for the graph and shows what information should be found on the axis. Axis Labels: Tells what information should be found on the axis. Unit: Tells the reader how the information is being measured. Key: Used to identify information in the graph.

Quantitative versus Qualitative

Quantitative Data *information that is expressed numerically. *Most quantitative data has been measured using units like distance (m), mass (g), temperature (ºC), etc…

Qualitative Data *information given in a descriptive manner *uses words that tell the reader what they observed. *i.e. – may tell how something looks or changes its looks in an experiment – think senses!
