Puppy Management At 2-3 days tails should be docked and dew claws removed if it is desired At day 10 the puppies should be dewormed for the first time. Deworming should be done every 2 weeks from then until 12 weeks old.

Vaccinations Puppies should be weaned at about 6 weeks. 4 Days after weaning the puppies should be vaccinated. Booster shots should be given every 2 to 3 weeks until the puppies are 12 weeks old

Steps to Giving Vaccine To give subcutaneous injection – Pull up skin on the back of the neck – Insert needle carefully, but firmly – Make sure the needle is in the correct location – Push the plunger to disperse the vaccine

Steps to giving Injections To give intramuscular injection – Choose the location of the injection – Insert the needle carefully, but firmly – Pull back on the plunger of the syringe – If no blood appears, then push the plunger to disperse the medication – Rub the injection site
