A Parent’s Influence You may not know it but you are your child’s first and most important teacher. Whenever you take the time to talk, read, or sing with your child, you are teaching language. Likewise, when you count or match items up while setting the table, you are modeling math. You are the center of your child’s world – just showing that you care tells your child that she or she can learn.
