Good Practice Event - 23 February 2011 Contracted Hours and Payment Fremantle employs the apprentice on a 35 hour contract Paying a salary of £3.64 per hour (national minimum wage for age group) – plus enhancements for weekend and bank holidays of £2.50 per hour (not allowed to work after 10.00pm until 18)

Good Practice Event - 23 February 2011 Mode of delivery and Training Care Training Solutions undertake the three elements in the programme Diploma in Health and Social Care Certificate in Preparing to work in adult Social care level two Functional Skills – Maths and English level one

Good Practice Event - 23 February 2011 Length of Training 12 – 18 months with twice monthly release from workplace and regular visits by Care Training Solutions for the provision of underpinning knowledge

Good Practice Event - 23 February 2011 What happens at the end of the programme If both parties are in agreement – Apprentice and Fremantle The apprentice is given a contract at Carer level 1 This is then reviewed after six months with a view to advancement to Carer level 2
