2 Welcome ASL 1-- Doorbuster- please copy all notes below (10 -15 min.): Deaf President Now (summary for test) In 1988, a school board had several candidates for university president There was one Deaf candidate – he had better education, better experience, and knew sign language They chose, however, a hearing woman- she had less education, less experience, and knew no sign language Their reason: Deaf people cannot function in a hearing society Began Deaf civil rights awareness across this country: The students protested and stormed the campus- & with support of the entire world, they finally won their battle The first Deaf president of Gallaudet was elected- I.King Jordan Note: Finished? Copy signs from the video, or sign to a friend. Also, you will need a red MASL! Book and gray/blue Signing naturally per 2 people Finished? Copy the signs to the right (or sign with someone)---

Red Master ASL! book- Page 93, learn/review colors – Signing Naturally Level 1 -gray with blue book -Numbers 1-100 – learn and/or review your numbers: – P. 17 (#1-10) – P.69 #21-30. – P. 105 #10-100 counting by tens, and double numbers; – P. 149- #67-98 numbers with special movement Time left? Red MASL! Book- look at vocabulary lists units 1-6– do you know most of these???

4 ASL 1 Doorbuster (10-15 min.) Activity (15 min.): Master ASL! And SN gray with blue books-Group work WSQ video (10 min.): link is on my website; sub has the questions--copy the questions and answer them in your composition books (or include each question in your answer) Ticket Out- (5 min.)- flashcards

5 Welcome ASL 2- Doorbuster- Timed signing with a group/person seated near you– ready? (have your grid out in your composition book) *The sub will watch, and as long as you are signing or watching someone sign, you are doing great! (10 min.) - This is 1/3 of your grade today, so be sure to earn it!

6 Written assignment- This is 2/3 of today’s daily grade- and important, as the information will be on a written test in April and your May final exam, so include all content) “ASL 2- ADA and other topics” read and copy all content in your own “shorthand” – this means it is still readable, and you only skipped words like the, to, etc. – all content is still there

7 ASL 2 Doorbuster Activity: written assignment- ADA sheet Ticket Out- flashcards

8 Welcome ASL 3 Doorbuster (5 min.): Ask 3 people – “what are you doing tonight, this weekend, or (choose a day)?” Activity (10-15 min.): Timed signing in groups of your choice- record times in the ASL 3 binder please. Rest of class time options: -work on project(s), practice signing-peer feedback -Projects ready? Vocabulary review game, do more ASL 3 UT online as a class, flashcard rings- review old signs, etc. Ticket Out
