2 Seattle, Washington  Washington’s nickname is The Evergreen State.  The region in the U.S. is the Pacific coast, Northwest.  Its’ capital city is Olympia.  Three major cities in Washington are Seattle, Spokane, and Vancouver.  Washington’s population is 6,724,540 people. 4  Washington’s current governor is Jay Inslee. He is a democrat.  The state senators are Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray. They are both democrats. Current Governor and State Senators

5  Washington’s borders Oregon, Idaho, Canada.  Much of Washington is mountainous.  A plateau named Columbia Plateau covers most of eastern Washington.  Eastern Washington also has dry plains and rolling hills.  Forests cover about half of Washington. Borders and geography
