Persian Gulf War Who was involved?
Saddam Hussein, United Nations, U.S. 30 other nations What happened? Iraq led by Saddam Hussein invaded the oil rich territory of Kuwait and the other nations and their troops became involved in the conflict When did it happen? The conflict began in August 1990 and the US sent in troops in January 1991.

Where did this happen? Iraq, Kuwait, the Persian Gulf region Why did it happen? The war began because Iraq accused Kuwait of stealing Iraqi oil by drilling under the border between the two countries How did things turn out? The Iraqi army was defeated in less than two months. Iraq had to leave Kuwait alone and destroy all weapons of mass destruction.

U.S. Invasion of Afghanistan
Who was involved? Al Qaeda (a group of radical islamic terrorists in Afghanistan), Osama Bin Laden, President Bush, British and U.S. troops What happened? The United States invaded Afghanistan in search of Osama Bin Laden. U.S. and British troops began to bomb areas where they believed he was hiding.

When did it happen? The WTC was attacked on September 11, 2001 and in October the US and Britain invaded Afghanistan. Where did this happen? The attacks began in NYC but the war was fought in Afghanistan. Why did this happen? Al Qaeda hijacked four planes and crashed two of them into the World Trade Center, crashed one into the Pentagon, and the fourth one crashed in a rural area. How did things turn out? At this time Osama Bin Laden has not been found and the US is still in Afghanistan

Iraq War Who was involved?
Saddam Hussein, United Nations, Congress, President Bush, Al Qaeda, US troops, British troops, Australian troops, Polish troops, Kurds, Iranians What happened? Congress passed a resolution allowing the United States to lead an attack on Iraq. Saddam Hussein was captured and put on trial for killing thousands of his own people and using chemical weapons on the Kurds and Iranians

Where did this happen? In the Iraqi capital of Baghdad. When did this happen? The US invaded in March Saddam was sentenced to death in 2006. Why did this happen? The US suspected Saddam of having weapons of mass destruction and feared that they may have connections with Al Qaeda. How did things turn out? As of today no weapons of mass destruction have been found and the US government is still in Iraq. Saddam Hussein was found guilty and sentenced to death in 2006.
