A Call To Step Out Of The Boat Matthew 14: 25-31a During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said. But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” ”Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came towards Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately, Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. Spiritual Principle: Only when we attempt to do things we are not able to do, will we see the mighty power of Jesus released.

God promises us a lot in the Bible. He promises us more than we make use of, or ask for. John 14:12 Jesus said, I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than those, because I am going to the Father. Romans 8:11 And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you. Ephesians 3:20 Now to Him, who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us. John 15:5 Jesus said, I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me, and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. This is the purpose of our lives: to bear fruit.

Think of your own life, of times you have felt called to do something courageous or foolish. What would happen if we did remain in Him?
4
Each believer has unique opportunities. What is God calling you to do? Why should we step out of the boat? How?
5
Exercising our spiritual gifts requires us to step out of the boat. We cannot do it by ourselves, only in Him. Healing Words of Knowledge
